This post is dedicated to all of the crag and hiking dogs out there!
We canine owners know that you pups become one with your inner-pooch and howling ancestors when you commune with the wonderful wild world. We also know that sometimes we put you in situations you'd prefer to avoid. Your brethren, Althea, is no exception...
So, before we go any further, meet Althea Fluffbombarama Spasmastica - Althea or Fluff for short. Fellow crag- and outdoor-perros, we know you can't do your normal getting-know-each-other-better sniffing exchanges, so, photo one is the best we could do for a computer-based introduction. The remaining photos are for our human friends.

Have your humans ever made you wear something you didn't quite understand? A hat? A backpack? Shoes?
These shoes have been a must in the cholla cactus fields in some parts of Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. But, as you can see in the video, Althea is a little uncertain about the whole thing. Eventually she got the hang of it... (Video: 0:49 seconds)
Some mapping days are nothing short of exhausting...
As a crag and mapping dog, waiting for the humans to return is part of the deal. (Video 0:22 seconds)
