This looks like an easy stair-step climb from the ground. It isn't. It's almost a What The FORGET ABOUT IT! The climb leans to the right almost the entire way, making you constantly feel as though you are going to be spit off. Combine that with marginal, sandy, slopey rock and shitty "I hope this will hold" protection and you have yourself a climb you just want to get through, almost wish you never did - and you are sure you will never do again - at least we won't. And we won't recommend it. We are sure someone out there would like it, though... (But, several people rate it a bomb on Mountain Project, and we agree.)

We scoped out this climb and what appears to be a crack is just a seam. There is one spot for protection on the steepest part of the climb (hence the x-rating).
The climb continues up for quite a ways beyond what this photo shows. We went around back and found our way to the top to see if we could set up a top rope - unfortunately no go. We tried placing several pieces and there was nothing that we would trust. We are kinda partial to being alive, so, this climb ain't happening. (Now the off-width to the right looks worthy of a go...interestingly no one has posted about it. I can't imagine it hasn't been climbed.) |
