SUMMARY HAIKU #2 (for Day 90 - Nov. 20, 2022):

Wanted a chill day

*One-off refers to the only 5.7 at the crag with a longer approach and/or walk-off. Aka: time sucker. At least the climb was fun! (More about the climb below)
** Grundle (see video for definition - hey, we didn't name the climb...we really had no idea what this word meant...don't say we didn't warn you...)
​*** This is the second pair of partially buried dirty underwear we have encountered on this WTF 5.7 Tour. No, they aren't ours. I am now going to add "Dirty Underwear Encounters" as another tracking category (there... went back and added the category - but this was the day that spurred this entertaining addition.)

• Arrived Parking Lot - 5:30 p.m. - approximately 98 degrees F.
• Start - 6:30 p.m. - At the Crumble My Grundle climb, which is located above the Conundrum Crag formations. Hit some other climbs at Conundrum. 
• Back at car - 9:00 p.m. (chilled and enjoyed the sunset and view!)

The Route

CLIMB: Crumble My Grundle (Trad) (5.7+)

• WTF? What the FUN!
  • Re-climbed it in November 2022 - still "What the FUN!"
  • This climb is located above the Conundrum Crag. The approach took about an hour, but we had to find a path up that worked for the dog (so that took us a bit longer). I think I inhaled half-a-bush-full of fluffy plant matter helping Althea up some rocks. Cough sneeze sneeze sneeze cough. 
  • This climb is rated a 5.7+ but we didn't really think there was any "plus" about it. It was fun and easy with only pleasant surprises. 
  • There were definitely fragile holds, but plenty of other solid options. 
  • Walk-off was to the climber's right. It was pretty straight forward with a 10-15 foot butt-slide-down-climb with a handy corner you can wedge into and plenty of holds to keep you steady (photo to the right).

Rick Momsen leading Crumble My Grumble (5.7+) at Conundrum Crag. We felt this was a pretty easy 5.7 and doesn't need the + rating. It was a fun climb!
